Loup is the fusion of twin passions for tennis and fashion. Designer Danielle Ribner admires the grace and athleticism of women's tennis players. Watching them glide across the court, she thought she could invigorate tennis apparel by incorporating current trends and stylish details.

Loup gives a woman the confidence to play hard, while ensuring that she looks and feels feminine. Standing out from the pack in tennis wear, Loup boasts looser fits and modern silhouettes that complement a woman's figure. Danielle draws inspiration from the classic American looks of greats like Claire McCardell, who helped bring sportswear into fashion and defined the ideas of simplicity, function and style.

The name Loup comes from Danielle's family nickname, Lou, identical in sound to the French word for 'wolf.' In this way, she instills the line with her own experience as well as the characteristics of the wolf: ferocity, strength, and beauty.

Danielle Ribner was born in New York and raised in Los Angeles. In 2005, she returned to New York to study fashion design at Parsons and pursue various internships. Upon graduation, she joined Jones Apparel Group, working in design on womenís wear lines such as Nine West, Anne Klein, and Jones NY. Danielle launched Loup in 2008 and is now proud to offer a line of dresses, skirts, and tops in performance fabrics.
